In the Ugandan press recently, a lot has been written about the gruesome act of human sacrifice.
On one hand the victims as always has been, are the helpless young boys and girls of between 1-13 years and on the other, are the culprits who are mainly business men and women looking for more wealth.
At the centre of it all are witchdoctors with “divine” powers who ask for these humans and use their body parts (head, heart, genitals, tongue etc) to carry out the rituals.

In this twenty first century, one would expect these stories to be confined in history books of the past centuries rather than make front pages of our dailies.
Truth is they are not.

This current predicament goes far to show how, despite human progress in trying to settle on another planet or open a human brain that we have made very little moral progress.

These despicable acts present a dilemma for modern day leaders and more so the African ones. The world watches and our leaders remain silent as more and more sons and daughters of the African soil perish under the hands of these social outcasts.

Recent efforts by masses in Uganda for instance to try and take the law within their hands and rescue the situation have been met with serious police brutality and the culprits of these human sacrifices have been rewarded with police bonds or set free for “lack of evidence” mainly because no one bothered to go out there and find it.

With less or no government intervention we might just be witnessing the unfolding of modern day human sacrifices. The region is in peril.

With Tanzania positioning its self as the regions main exporter of these cruel murderers, cases of human sacrifice unless something happens, are still very much here with us and so be very afraid where your little siblings, son or daughter put their feet.

As our leaders continue to ignore the cries of mothers, it will be little surprise that hate groups will emerge and justice will be delivered to these people.

Kapinda survived being lynched by residents of Kyaitamba,Kijura Parish, Hakibale Sub-County after the body of a 7 year boy was found in a pit latrine next to his shrine. Kapinda had earlier asked the boy's parents 1 million to help them recover their son who had gone missing after leaving home for school. He produced the boy's School bag and Shoes to prove his knowledge of the boy's whereabouts. When the parents could only manage to raise ShsU.400,000, Kapinda refused to coperate insisting on getting his 1m prompting the family to go puplic.Angry residents then descended on his shrine setting it ablaze before police intervened by firing bullets and rescuing the witchdoctor.
Magezi's body was removed from the latrine with tongue, heart and privates missing.
